Read this if you feel lost.
These steps will re-give you perspective in 2-3 weeks.
"I'm lost".
You don't know where to go. There are endless paths but at the same time none at all. You could do everything but keep doing nothing. Everything feels meaningless. Life doesn't give you feedback. You feel dull. You long for chaos. Adventure.
But all you have is the same old routine that dictates your life:
Wake up
Scroll
Eat breakfast
Sit in traffic
Work for 8h (On something you hate)
Drive home
Eat
Distract yourself
Scroll
Sleep
Repeat
Life isn't easy, but it's also not challenging. You try to distract yourself, but it only makes it worse. You try self-improvement. Mediation. Working out. It helps, but the underlying problem is still there.
The truth is: You aren't lost. You're just not living. You're existing, but not living. The lack of adventure, fun and challenge in your life make it dull and boring. The lack of risks makes you complacent, because there's nothing at stake. You don't get punished when failing and you don't get rewarded when succeeding. You just stay in the loop.
How to fix that:
1) Go into nature
Most people are disconnected from nature.
When you go into nature, without all the distractions, you'll find your real self. You will dig deeper into your mind, being able to process your thoughts correctly. You will come up with ideas and solutions.
When you look up to the mountains and the trees, you will get humbled. They were in this exact place for hundreds, if not thousands of years. They don't care about your problems. Nature doesn't care about you. Nature is brutal and beautiful at the same time. Ruthless. You'll realize how small your problems are. They're not important.
You'll start to think bigger. Your mind will expand. The masses think mundane, everyday thoughts, if they even think. The NPC-minds don't think big thoughts. They don't come up with solutions. They just think what they should think and do what they should do. Nature allows you to think bigger. To come closer to God.
Go on walks. Go hiking. Go camping. Go into nature.
2) Learn a new skill
The moment you stop learning, you're dying. "A tree that doesn't grow, dies." 97% of people die at the age 0f 25. The moment they leave their last school, they stop learning. They stop improving. They stop adapting. Then they do the same thing every day for 40+ years. Their death lasts 60 years.
But if you keep learning, improving and adjusting your whole life, death becomes a singular moment. You can choose your death.
That's why you should learn a new skill. Learn a skill you're interested in. This could be ANYTHING:
Manual (Woodworking, blacksmithing, ...)
Mental (Psychology, philosophy, ...)
Business (Writing, marketing, ...)
Physical (Backflip, Handstand, ...)
Just learn what you want. BUT LEARN!
3) Pick up a new hobby
Don't step into the monk-mode trap. Being a basement-dweller for the sake of "self-improvement".
Instead, pick up as many new hobbies as humanly possible. Hobbies will teach you new skills and get you socializing.
This, again, can be ANYTHING. The key is to choose something you're naturally interested in. Something that's fun.
Bonus points for choosing a competitive hobby. Competition is the biggest driver of high testosterone.
Here are some ideas for inspiration:
Armwrestling
Martial arts
Mountain-biking
Kitesurfing
Surfing
Tennis
Golf
Fishing
Hunting
Beekeeping
etc.
Have some fun. Be hobbymaxxing. Hobbies allow you to improve at something, fast. This feeling of measurable improvement will give you more motivation, drive, testosterone and a sense of purpose.
4) Go on adventures
Sometimes you just need to hit reset. Break out of your routine. Go on an adventure. You, your thoughts and a sleeping bag.
Here's how to do exactly that:
Pack some gear
Drive to the mountains
Hike to a good spot
Set up camp
Make a campfire
Cook over it
Look at the stars
Think deep thoughts
Pray
Get into your sleeping bag
Wake up with the sunrise and the birds
Do these regularly.
5) Explore new places
Explore an abandoned building. Explore a city. Explore a new path.
As kids, we always had the urge to explore new things. Everything was new. Every step unknown, every place exciting. This brought a sense of wonder to our lives. We lost this.
Exploring is fun, and you should do it regularly.
Explore an abandoned building
Go to a place you've never been before
Go traveling
Explore a new part of the forest
Just explore.
6) Set goals
If you don't have your own goals, you'll be assigned some. Goals give you a purpose, a direction. They're the signposts for your life.
Here's how to set goals:
Write this down: What do you want in life? What do you NOT want in life? Be as specific as possible. the second thing should scare the shit out of you.
Set a 10 year vision
Set a 1 year goal
Set 3 month goals to achieve the 1 year goal
Set weekly milestones to hit the 3 month goal
Set daily tasks
During the process, always ask yourself: Will this bring me closer to my dream life?
7) Just have fun bro
It's not that complicated. Don't be a doomer. The world's fucking awesome. You can do whatever you want. Just try out everything.
And always have fun. Smile. Take the risk. Enjoy the rollercoaster of life.
The biggest thing holding you back is giving a shit. Nobody fucking cares. Try out everything. Fail at everything. Find, what you actually want.
8) Follow God
Society is drifting away from God in a time where we need him the most.
Pray.
Read the bible. Study it.
Ask God for guidance.
Invite Jesus Christ into your life. Make him the center of your life. Think, speak, and act in his interest. Follow him. Love him with all your heart.
God will guide you through life.
You need to have unreasonable optimism. You need to always think: "God will get me through this. I will win"
Summed up:
You aren't lost. You're just not living.
Follow these steps:
Go into nature
Learn new skills
Pick up new hobbies
Go on adventures
Explore new places
Set goals
Have fun
Follow God
Just start living life. Trust God. It'll work out. Build things. Do things. Enjoy things. The world is to beautiful to be a basement-dweller. Get out there.
You can just do things.
Thank you for reading.
Stay on the search for truth,
