If you aren't who you want to be, read this.
This can destroy you, or you can use it as your advantage.
I used to be a skinny skater-boy, wearing baggy clothes and looking like a homeless guy. While I didn't realize this at the time, I was limiting my potential by wearing these clothes.
I was attracting low quality friends.
I was perceived worse by myself and others.
The way I was dressed turned into reality. (No, I didn't become homeless, but degenerate.)
My perception of myself was bad. Like really bad. I thought of myself as this broke dude who just wants to skate all day. I wanted to smoke because "it's cool" and I got pretty degenerate.
Why? This obviously has many reasons, but one of them is how I was dressing. Let me explain.
Clothes make the man.
A king would never dress like a homeless guy. Not because he can't, but the way he dresses signals to others and himself who he is and that he's important.
Your clothing is one of the first things others notice about you. They cover 80%+ of your body. This is huge.
Imagine seeing someone and they're wearing a nice knitted sweater, matching pants and a classy vest. He's generally sophisticated and clean looking. You'd think that he's financially well, has control over his life and could become a good friend. You respect him.
Now imagine the exact same dude but he's wearing baggy jeans, an oversized hoodie and worn out shoes. You'd think he's a fucking brokie who last showered two weeks ago. But the ONLY thing we changed was his clothing. The clothing completely changes the first perception of someone.
But worse, bad clothing changes the perception you have about YOURSELF. You start to think your broke. You start to think you don't have control over your life. This will become reality.
On the other hand, when you dress well, you become that person. If you dress rich, you'll become rich. Opportunities will become clear. You think of yourself as more, so you act more. This is extremely powerful.

Kids don't become great at football and then start wearing the Ronaldo shirt. They wear the Ronaldo shirt first, trying to get to his level.
Your clothing changes how you and others perceive you. → This perception influences your behavior. → Your behavior changes the outcomes of your life.
Fake it till you make it is real. Just fake being the guy you want to be by dressing like him and you'll get there sooner or later.
How to dress.
Now obviously, everyone has a different taste, but I'll just say what I think.
It all depends on how you WANT to be perceived.
Want to be perceived as wealthy? Dress rich, classy and sophisticated. The old money style could be fitting.

Want be perceived as really hard and masculine? Dress like a rough lumberjack or construction worker.
Want to be perceived as a cowboy? Howdy, dress like a fucking cowboy.
You get the point.
Form follows function. Your clothing should be functional. And I don't mean that by having endless pockets, but by being fitting to the lifestyle you have.
If I lived in a chill beach town in Italy, I'd always wear linen shirts and shorts with Birkenstocks.
If I lived in the Canadian wilderness, I'd always wear camo outdoor clothing.
Your styles can (and should) change from day to day. You're going to a fancy restaurant for dinner? Wear that suit. You're on an adventure in the woods? Wear the outdoor clothing.
For everyday life, I'd recommend having a casual, but classy look. I'm a fan of the old money style, with a bit of room to play around with. I don't want to come across too over-the-top, but I also don't want to look like everyone else with just a jeans and hoodie. Gotta find the sweet-spot.
"You don't need to care about your appearance"
Bullshit. Everyone should care about their appearance. When you're going out, you could come across your future wife. As I explained before, appearance is extremely important. It literally determines what they think of you in the most important moment.
"I don't care what anyone thinks about me." Yes you do. You just don't want to admit it. Everyone does. Yeah sure, you shouldn't care what people think of you in everyday life. But when you talk to someone and want them to respect you, you should care about how you look.
Clothes make the man. When you want to teak leaps in life, dress like the guy you want to become. Just copy the vibe of the clothing. This will put you in the right mindset to actually achieve it.
Stay on the search for truth,
Fabian
