Meditation is the habit the self-improovement gurus LOVE to talk about. It's the ultimate cure for everything.

And if you're anything like me you have followed the advice to meditate daily. To be fair, nothing wrong with that.

Besides that it's boring as fuck.

And I know what I'm talking about. I had a meditation streak of over TWO YEARS. I meditated every single day for over 800 days.

What did I learn? That meditation is not the miracle fix to all your problems like Hamza told us.

In fact, the effects it had on my life were marginal. Maybe the first few months were good, but after that I pretty much got nothing out of it.

But at the same time I noticed that something else had a REALLY positive effect on me.

(Note: there's nothing wrong with meditation, this is just better.)

I was getting all the promised benefits of meditation and more from this thing.

It was being in a flow-state.

And I know you've heard it a thousand times how important a flow state is.

But I'm not talking about a flow state to be more productive.

I'm talking about a peak human experience.

When you don't have a single thought behind your eyes.

When you're completely tapped into your true self.

When you're completely at peace.

This is the power of flow.

Being in a flow state is extremely retardmaxxed. You don't have a single thought, you're fully focused, you're having fun and you're experiencing one of the peak human feelings.

But getting into flow-state is difficult. I've tried lots of different things and found out the best ways to get into a deep flow-state.

It all comes down to mastering a few variables.

1. Fun

Do more fun things in your life.

This is one of the most powerful things you can do.

As kids we were always trying to have fun. If something wasn't fun we simply didn't do it.

Return to that state. Return to childhood. Do what you love.

This is achieved through play. Inject more play into your life. Gamify shit. Do the hobbies you like. Compete with others.

This is a primal way of getting into a flow-state.

For me this is shooting guns, kite-surfing, mountain-biking and skiing.

Just do what you find fun. Do what you enjoy.

2. Danger

This is the second variable to an unreal flow-state.

Doing dangerous things obviously puts you in the zone.

It's the body's natural way of trying not to die.

I call this the flow-state-or-die-activities. Either you stop thinking, trust your intuition and instincts and enter the zone, or, well, you die.

When your life is on the line, your brain stops throwing BS at you and switches to reflex-mode: No action you do is because you TRY to do it. Nothing you do is because you WANT to do it. You don't need to THINK. You just purely ACT.

This is probably why men are naturally drawn to extreme sports.

They're dangerous as fuck, erasing all the thought, all the worry, all the unnecessary things from your brain.

In history this was fighting. Fighting other tribes, fighting in wars etc.

Or when you and your boys were hunting dangerous animals.

You had to be locked tf in to not die.

For me this is, again, kite-surfing, mountain-biking and skiing.

If you do fun things which are dangerous you're already in pure fucking flow.

But some things aren't dangerous in a physical sense.

They're dangerous because they're challenging.

3. Challenge

  • Competition

  • Talking to big audiences

  • Playing an instrument

  • Gambling

  • Talking to that girl

Whatever it is that is challenging will get you in a flow state.

The only thing to watch out for is things that are too challenging. That'll just overwhelm you.

You need to find the edge. The line that's above your comfort zone, but not so much to completely frustrate you.

This line will raise over time which is exactly why this is so powerful.

Whatever is way too challenging for you now will be boring as fuck in a year or so.

So challenge yourself regularly.

4. Risk

Imagine gambling with 10 bucks. Yeah you'd maybe try but you wouldn't really care.

Now imagine gambling with 10 thousand bucks. You'd be locked tf in.

It's simple: more risk = more "danger" = more flow-state.

I've wrote about retarded risk taking a while ago.

Taking more risks improves everything in your life.

Just retardmaxx it and go all in on whatever you want.

Take. More. Risks.

As you may have noticed, these 4 variables all interconnect.

The one is also the other, the other is connected to yet another.

It isn't hard to get these variables down.

If you have danger, you also have risk, you're therefore challenged, which is fun. Badabang badaboom, you're in a flow state.

But you can still make this better. One thing is still missing.

The trifecta of flow state

Caffeine, energy and nicotine.

I'm heavily biased on this but espressomaxxing just makes everything better.

Puts you in another gear.

Energy is straight-forward too: Energymaxxing is the base of everything. If you're high-energy the flow state will be 10x better.

Eat your fruits, get your creatine and taurine and put on good music.

The nicotine part is optional. I don't do it myself (besides the occasional cigar).

But if you're using nicotine either way, then may as well us it to amplify the flow.

Now you've entered a new world. The world of the retard.

No thoughts, no worries, no bs.

Just pure focus, fun, divine inspiration and intuition.

You start operating through action, not through thoughts.

You experience the peak human feeling.

Vamos.
